Role Profile:
Join this amazing team of over 150 IT specialists within the End User Support Team. This contract role will see you responsible for the high availability and stability of multiple UNIX systems and services hosted on hybrid infrastructure.
Purpose of the Role:
Working within the Operations Team within ICT you'll collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to manage the business critical UNIX systems and will provide BAU support, assist with incident, problem and change management as well as monitoring and tuning performance, patching, backup, security and disaster recovery.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience as a Senior Unix Engineer
- Experience with administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- Experience with RHEL Satellite
- Experience with Red Hat Gluster
- Experience with VMware, Site Recovery Manager and vRealize Operations
- Experience supporting HP Blades/Chassis and Cisco
- Experience in the diagnosis and resolution of incidents and problems related to Hardware and Software
- Knowledge/ experience in support requirements for Oracle database
- Experience in Cloud environments (Azure and AWS)
- Solid understanding in the principles, procedures and practice of provisioning technologies, capacity planning, automation, system redundancy, archive, backup and recovery.
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
- Proven ability to work within an ITIL framework.
- Ability to methodically work through problems and determine root cause and remediating.
- Have a great sense of humour, believe in collaboration and enjoy helping your internal customers.
