The Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Support Engineer (Application Support) to join our Customer Service team. In this role, the primary objective is to provide technical support and assistance to our customers. As part of the customer service department you will be required to support and implement in-house software applications running on real time systems.

The role is based in our office located in Clayton, VIC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting of technical issues of Dematic products and systems.
  • Work with the Dematic Contact Centre in handling support calls and providing regular updates.
  • Participation of project work and commissioning of new systems and customer sites.
  • Ensure all administration work is completed and submitted on time and correctly.
  • Use hazard identification tools and systems to ensure safe work practices are used and customer sites are hazard free.
  • System monitoring, validation and regression testing.
  • Resolve within a reasonable time any system issues or escalate issues within Dematic to the relevant department or manager.

What We Are Looking For

Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Degree in Computer Programming/IT or Engineering disciplines.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in predominately Windows environments (2003, 2008, 2012, 2014 & 2016).
  • Knowledge of SQL Servers, networking, LANs and PLC software (i.e. Siemens and Rockwell),
  • Excellent analytical and diagnostic capability. Ability to use root cause analysis techniques to trace problems to their source and to find solutions.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain of positive and constructive relationships with both internal and external organisations.
  • Be a strong communicator, with the ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical and business expertise.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who has a strong desire to learn and develop new skills. To be successful in this role, you will need to have advanced problem solving skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage your time and prioritise to meet deadlines.

The position will require standby / afterhours support work and some interstate travel. An attractive salary package is on offer as well as outstanding career opportunities.
