About the role
An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced and customer focussed IT Network Engineer to join a large IT team. Based in St Leonards at a client site and reporting to the onsite IT Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, stability and security of the network ensuring the continued operation of the environment.
Tasks
- Document new and existing process
- Network issue identification and resolution
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Layer 2 and Layer 3 Issues
- Daily log and alert monitoring
- Network performance
- Network Security
- Use information and data to plan and execute preventative maintenance/measures
- Maintain production network devices and supporting systems
- Responsible for planning and organizing network & security related projects with architecture and engineering teams.
- Daily operation tasks using configuration management and/or diagnostic tools, monitoring applications and performance analysis tools
- Continuous planning, documentation and perform maintenance on production network specific systems and adhere to change management policies and procedures.
- Vendor Management for Incidents, Service Requests and coordination of Implementation activities

Experience
- Minimum 8 years industry experience in a service-based IT role preferably within an MSP and/or 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Advanced understanding of ITIL or alternative relevant framework.
- Relevant industry certification is preferred
