Senior ICT Business Analyst – NSW Government

   
An ICT Business Analyst is required by a NSW Government Department on an initial six-month contract. The role will based in both Parramatta and Wollongong (at least two days per week in each location). This role may also require some travel to departmental offices based in the Sydney CBD.
  
The Business Analyst will be working with a small agile software development team in the creation of a greenfield web application, with the possibility of incorporating mobile application development and cloud platform capability.
  
Key responsibilities:

• As part of the Software Development team, work to develop a greenfield software application
• Work within an Agile framework to write individual user stories
• Undertake exploratory testing and demonstration of the user story to users
• Document and model business processes (current and future state)
• Facilitate workshops
• Write User Stories and their acceptance tests
• Use static prototypes to enable examination and viability of the design concept

Selection criteria:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Senior BA (preferably in an Agile environment)
• Experience with; writing user stories, demonstrating software changes, facilitating workshops; documenting and modelling business processes
• Demonstrated experience working across both Business and IT projects
• Strong understanding of organisational change management
• Knowledge of Lean software development principles and practices
• Strong stakeholder management skills & ability to manage stakeholder expectations
• Knowledge of Agile principles and development practices
• Desirable: Knowledge of/experience using Design thinking methods
• Desirable: Experience conducting exploratory tests
