Your new employer is an industry leader in radio telecommunication solutions. They provide their customers with dedicated communications solutions that bridge vast distances across Australia. Due to an increase in work this business leader is seeking a new team member who is eager to understand the business and grow a career in the industry.
In your new role, you will be responsible for installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of a wide variety of telecommunications equipment located at client sites across Australia, mainly focussed on the east coast. This role will also involve the configuration and testing of new systems in the workshop to strict specifications, and installation and trouble shooting at client sites. Your role on site will include making the site safe; working with subcontractors including riggers and other technicians, and carrying out some work that may require climbing.
The equipment includes microwave radio transceivers, antennas, monitoring equipment and a variety of hardware and cabling. Most of the installations are in cubicles but, as some will be on telecommunications towers, you will need to be able climb towers and work at heights on occasions.
You will have some experience as a telecommunications technician and with installation and maintenance of equipment. You will have completed (or be currently completing) technical qualifications preferably in Telecommunications to Cert III or IV TAFE equivalent, ACMA cabling licences, and have a willingness to work at heights.
