Primary Accountability

To provide Incident resolution, installation and Project Delivery for Telecommunications Voice, Data, IP Tel & UC Client environments and ensure end to end operational availability of network systems within service levels and / or service expectations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Resolving high severity incidents, low severity incidents and change requests
  • Provide technical services and support for the following areas:
    • Network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
    • Internal systems, cloud and network infrastructure
    • Microsoft related technologies: Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, SharePoint
    • Virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft
    • Remote access solution support: VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix
    • Remote monitoring and management of system alerts and notifications
  • Resolve all incidents in line with required service level agreements
  • Complete project activities as required on behalf of the customer
  • Define and document requirements and provide design documentation as appropriate
  • Assist with and generate Design’s, Solutions & execute new installations and upgrades as necessary complying with the change management process.
  • Maintain accurate records of all operational assets (hardware, software)
  • Work with Customers, Solutions Architects, Pre-Sales, NEC Management and the delivery team in providing the best and most cost effective solution
  • Liaise as required between the Delivery team, Professional services, Solution Architects and OEM’s on the implementation & support issues that may arise

Professional Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • Considerable knowledge of enterprise networks and data centres
  • Experience in implementing, managing and troubleshooting Cisco based networks
  • Experience with Cisco Firewalls
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Wireless
  • Experience with WAN acceleration/optimisation services
  • Experience with network management systems
  • Experience with MS and Solaris (or Linux) based communication systems (DNS, Proxies, VPN, access systems)
  • Previous exposure with converged networks carrying VoIP and VC
  • High levels of verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to a diverse audience (Technical staff & Management)
  • ITIL Foundations Certificate
  • Cisco Certifications
