The Data Science team aspires to create value from data through the use of data and algorithms, including advanced analytics, machine learning, cognitive computing and artificial intelligence. The role of the Data Science Engineer exists to improve data science agility in building deployment ready models and improve the quality and confidence in data science assets
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing pipelines and environments, providing new ideas, leveraging new data sources and making machine learning techniques available to data scientists.
- Be curious and inquisitive, and encourage analytical and engineering thinking across the team.
- Create ideas for tackling business problems, explore and apply analytics methodologies.
- Analyse, understand and design solutions for business problems using large scale big data and machine learning techniques.
- Be an active participant in an analytical modeling community of practice that shares ideas and techniques across Data Science.
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of commercial experience mandatory.
- Experience developing recommendation systems, econometric models, predictive analytics algorithms, data mining, and/or building machine learning systems to solve large scale customer problems is highly regarded.
- Experience using big data scale systems including some of Python, R, Spark, SQL, NoSQL, git is highly desirable.
