Leading organisation and innovator of services and technology in its field with multiple locations around the world is seeking an experienced, dynamic production Oracle DBA to join their team.
Reporting to the DBA Team Leader and working with Senior DBAs and other DBAs in the Oracle teams you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, support and security of a large number of Oracle production databases. Specific responsibilities and challenges will include:
- Install, create, configure, upgrade and monitor databases to ensure optimum performance
- Advance query development, schema changes, database maintenance and optimization
- Evaluate, recommend, manage and execute patching and upgrades
- Implement & manage mirroring, replication, disaster recovery and data integrity checks
- Manage database security and integrity, availability, backup, restore and recovery systems
- Monitor database system resources and performance ensuring that they meet agreed SLA’s.
- Provide 24 x 7 Database Production Support as needed.
This is a large complex Oracle database environment that is critical to the efficient running of the organisation so to qualify you will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong experience as a production DBA supporting a large and complex Oracle database environments;
- Extensive experience with Oracle 9i,10g, 11g and 12c as well as RAC, Grid and other Oracle products
- Strong understanding of Oracle backup and recovery (RMAN, replication)
- Advanced database problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure;
- Experience in database scripting (Unix Shell, Perl, SQL, pl/sql), automation and performance monitoring;
- Ability and commitment to working on call after hours as required;
- Experience working in a large ITIL compliant environment, and
- Ability and willingness to pick up and apply new technologies.
