Job description summary
Senior IT Support Engineer will be responsible for IT planning, monitoring and maintaining the computer systems and networks of the organisation and clients. It includes install and configure computer systems, diagnose hardware/software faults and solve technical problems for clients.
 
Skills Required
  • Advanced technical skills and support capabilities for Windows Server Infrastructure - Windows Server Essentials, Window Server 2012/2016, Exchange Server, SQL Server. This includes demonstrated work experience with strong Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge.
  • Advanced technical skills and support capabilities for Microsoft Office365 including Share point set-up and maintenance.
  • Advanced technical skills and support capabilities for system virtualisation technologies-VMware, Hyper-V and Citrix. This includes demonstrated work experience on deploying and managing VM and VDI system.
  • Advanced technical skills and support capabilities for backup technologies -  Veritas, Veem and StorageCraft.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Cloud Technology - Microsoft Azure & AWS.
  • High level understanding of Windows Desktop operating systems such as Windows 7 and Windows 10.
  • Solid working & diagnostic knowledge of networking principles such as TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, NetBIOS etc, and hand-on experience to configure routers, managed switches and firewalls- Cisco, Huawei, Checkpoint, Palo Alto.
  • Understanding software licensing models etc.
  • Sound technical skills to support in-house and cloud phone system-Avaya, NEC and Cisco
  • Relevant industry certifications (Microsoft, ITIL, Cisco, Huawei, VMware, Citrix,  and other Certs)
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Provide Daily technical support both onsite and remote as required 
  • Support and maintain current infrastructure to run under a stable situation
  • Audit and document new customers
  • Assist with software/server, file and email back-up and migrations
  • Develop and implement new solutions as requested with pre-sales team
  • Assist with software/server, file and email back-up and migrations
  • Mentor and assist Junior staff with issues as required
  • Provide updates to clients as well as the IT team through efficient communications
