Nanosonics Limited is a publically listed ASX200 Australian medical device company. We develop, manufacture and commercialise innovative medical device disinfection solutions for global markets.

We are currently seeking for a software/ firmware engineer to join us on a 12-month contract during our time of growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated software and firmware engineer with 3-5 years of experience to join a medical device company.
The role involves working with microcontrollers and low-level hardware control in a safety-critical environment.
The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Software, Computer or Electronic Engineering or a similar degree level qualification.
The requirements for the role include:
- Firmware development in the C or C++ programming languages
- Maintain and enhance existing firmware in addition to writing new firmware
- Comfortable working with hardware interfaces and protocols, e.g. I2C and serial.
- Create and review software requirements, test plans and protocols
- Be able to read schematic and use oscilloscope or other test/verification equipment and have good troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in accordance with IEC 62304 and ISO 13485
- Experience with version control tools (especially GIT/BitBucket),
- Continuous integration tools (e.g. Bamboo) and task tracking tools (e.g. JIRA)
Candidates who have working experience in safety-critical environments and knowledge of IEC 62304 are particularly encouraged to apply.
Skills and areas which are desirable but not mandatory include:
- Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience with automated test systems, National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW software.
