All our tech people work in a hierarchy free cross-functional squads, that act like startups inside a larger company. The squads are mission driven and responsible to come up with projects that allows the mission to succeed. Each squad owns each project from inception to deploy without dependencies or approvals.

A typical squad at THE ICONIC has between 8 to 10 people each with different main skill-set ie: Full stack engineer, iOS, Android, Product Owner, Data Scientist, UXD etc... Because of this you’ll have the opportunity to learn other skills and cross-pollinate your main skill to others.

To keep everyone in sync we have several guilds where people discuss and align specific practices ie PHP, Data, Javascript, UX, Security etc... We also run a fortnight show & tell where our 9 squads present achievements, failures and learnings.

We believe innovation is everyone’s job, by having mission driven squads innovation happens naturally. We love to challenge the status quo that’s why we have a monthly Pet Project Day to give everyone the opportunity hack around tech and process people are passion about.

Learning is at the base of our culture, we have a shared learning bank for everyone to use with minimal friction. We also run a monthly Learning Day where everyone pairs to learn and teach cool tech.

About the Role

As a Microsoft Dynamics (NAV) Consultant / Engineer at THE ICONIC you’ll be working as part of a highly skilled NAV team looking to take our NAV platform to the next level. We’re looking for a passionate full stack engineer that loves automation and has vast experience on managing, implementing and maintaining the whole NAV stack.

You’ll be surrounded by 80+ like minded tech people across all disciplines, full stack developers, QAs, DevOps, Data Engineers, UX and Product.

Microsoft NAV plays a fundamental role at being THE ICONIC ERP and also powering a significant part of our warehouse operations. We are currently in the process of integrating NAV with a warehouse automation system (aka The Robot), which means that when the project is completed the lines of code you write in NAV will make our warehouse robot move.

Tasks and Duties

• Implement coding best practices

• Automate NAV installation and configuration so new NAV instances can be spun up on demand on a cloud environment

• Performance tuning on NAV

• Move our NAV code base to version control

• Audit our unit/integration tests and come up with a plan to increase application coverage whilst installing best practices with the NAV engineering team

• Define a configure and deployment pipeline using modern CI tools

• Drill down on MSSQL slow queries and tune them

• Work with the team to achieve best possible implementation of business requirements

• Integrate and facilitate integration with other business applications

Who we are looking for?

• Experience on multiple successful implementations with Microsoft Dynamics NAV

• Knowledge of technical and business writing

• Experience on technical design, develop and testing of core Dynamics NAV granules and add-on’s

• Passionate about development lifecycle and code quality best practices

• Ability to work independently with minimum guidance

• Experience working on fast-paced, small iterations and continuous delivery software lifecycle

• Experience with Agile, Devops and Lean methodologies

• Understand the functional and technical differences between different versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV to perform upgrade assessments
