A large, complex government organisation is seeking an experienced Principal Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a large-scale ICT initiative. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will initiate new projects and provide high level communication to project sponsors and other key stakeholders in the move towards successful delivery.
This is an initial 12 month contract opportunity, located in Brisbane CBD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Scope and manage critical, high profile initiatives, in order to achieve agreed objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
- Prepare relevant project documentation to a high standard, to ensure appropriate communication of project scope, objectives, status and deliverables.
- Establish plans and schedules for internal and external project activities.
- Monitor, manage and control project activities in accordance with agreed plans, including management of financial costs, risks and issues, and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken to deliver the project on time and to budget.
- Establish and maintain strong and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including cross-agency representatives, consultants and contractors, to ensure project success.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience leading complex ICT or IT enabled projects through to completion (preferably in government environments)
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with the project team and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met
- Ability to effetcively communicate project requirements and outcomes, both in writing and orally
- Understanding of software procurement, in particular requirements gathering and the software development process
Highly Desired:
- Qualifications in PRINCE2 project management methodology and MSP project management methodology
