Immediate need for an experienced IT Security Analyst with well known organisation
Your new company
Our client is a well-known organisation based close to the CBD. They are currently looking for an IT Security Analyst for a 9 month contract, who has previous work experience in an IT security role and an active interest in cyber security. The candidate will need to demonstrate strong skills and experience in networking, firewall management and vulnerability assessment. This person will work within the Cyber Security Operations Team and report to the Security Support Manager.
Your new role
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor networks and applications for vulnerabilities and compliance with Information Security requirements and standards.
- Maintain Information Security solutions and tools to identify and report on potential vulnerabilities and threats.
- Provide support for security application problems and incidents, and fulfilment of service requests.
- Develop, monitor, analyse and report on IT security metrics to measure the effectiveness of information security controls.
- Identify security gaps with existing security tools and controls and recommend mitigation activities, including business processes, applications and products.
- Actively participate in development of process and procedural documentation as required.
- Actively contribute to a culture of service excellence, innovation and continuous improvement founded on cohesiveness, team work and flexibility.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience and Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in using IT Service Desk tools and understanding of ITIL.
- Experience in dealing with Incident and change management processes.
- Ability to take direction well, follow documented processes and create process documents.
- Experience with and understanding of IP subnetting and networking concepts.
- Experience with and understanding of firewall policy creation and management.
- Experience with using Active Directory User and Computers management console.
- Experience with SSL certificates management including certificate monitoring.
