A fantastic role for a junior or intermediate Automation tester! This is a 7 month Fixed Term contract with a potential to become a permanent role.
You will have the opportunity to learn from the wider team and get exposure to a great variety of systems and applications.
The purpose of this role is to identify the required tests, executing and/or automating tests, monitoring the test coverage and evaluating the overall quality experienced when testing the target test items.
Accountabilities
Manual Testing
- Assist with regression testing
- Perform golden path testing
- Exploratory testing on new features
Automated Functional Testing
- Write functional test scripts using Cypress tool (ideal)
- Cover business requirements with tests
- Monitor coverage of functional test suite
Unit Testing
- Write Unit and integration tests for react components
- Write unit and integration tests for PHP modules
Documentation
- Appropriate research and documentation produced to assess opportunity value and cost
- Well defined requirements and/or user stories produced
- Appropriate documentation to reflect current functionality and processes
- Clearly described support process documentation
Requirements:
- Ability to document current state/problem and define proposal for future state/ideal scenario
- Able to take a risk based approach to Analysis, quality and delivery parameters
- Having working knowledge of internet based solutions
- Ensure industry best practice in online solution development and testing is followed
- Executes the most astute requirements solution to a problem
- Be able to cross-skill across solutions
- Customer focus
- Excellent communicate skills, both written and verbal
- Planning and time management
- Clear analytical thinking and problem solving
- Degree qualified desirable
- Git
Skills and Abilities
Mandatory
- Ability to write functional automated tests, with preference in Javascript
- Ability to write Unit and integration tests with preference in both Javascript and PHP
- Ability to translate business goals into functional test plans
- Ability to manage code using Git
Desirable Software Testing Competencies
- Experience with software testing best practices: Page object model, TDD, BDD
- Experience in self-managed teams
- Continuous integration/automation
- API testing
- Security testing
- Accessibility testing
