About the role

Rapid growth means we have a new position available to the right candidate. The Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting equipment primarily in a Microsoft Windows environment, from pre- sales design through to implementation and support. The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform a wide variety of installation, configuration and upgrading of workstations, servers, hardware as well as software. Additionally, you will be able to provide investigative/diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of system, hardware, software and infrastructure faults. This position will also be an escalation point for the junior members of the team. Finally, this role will need to be able to perform their duties unsupervised as onsite work is a key component of this role.

  • Complete pre- sales design, configuration, installation and support of equipment in a Microsoft Windows environment to the specifications of client proposals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server or computer issues when contacted by clients by providing both on-site and remote support.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Be approachable as an escalation point for junior members of the team.
  • Perform monthly maintenance works for key clients at their offices

Skills and experience

  • At least 3 years' experience supporting clients in a Managed Services Provider environment.
  • MCSA (Productivity, Cloud or Mobility) or MCSE qualifications.
  • Strong understanding and experience with Office 365 (Hosted Exchange is essential)
  • High level of experience in Server 2008 R2/2012 R2 – Group Policy, ADUC, DHCP, DNS, Remote Desktop Services, Virtualisation.
  • Strong Networking experience (CCNA or equivalent)
  • Experience in deploying/configuring/maintaining firewall devices (WatchGuard experience preferred)
  • Familiarity with MDM solutions (Airwatch, Intune), Business Continuity, Backup/Disaster Recovery software (Veeam, ShadowProtect, Datto), cloud infrastructure or experience with LabTech/ConnectWise/ScreenConnect would be highly beneficial but not essential.

Essential to the role will be your ability to communicate to all levels of staff (technical or non- technical), maintain a high level of integrity in your activities, be resourceful in looking for solutions and be accountable in all things that you do and finally, above all you must be passionate about IT!
