The role
This role is challenging, interesting and integral to the service we provide to our clients via the SOE Management team. The SOE Management team is responsible for maintaining the Standard Operating Environment and packaged applications in use.
As the Senior SOE Engineer, you are responsible for the timely action of customer service requests within the agreed SLAs while maintain accurate and timely updates to technical documentation and ticket notes.
The core objectives and responsibilities of the SOE Engineer include the following:
- Maintenance of Microsoft Desktop Operating System and productivity suites
- Group Policy Management
- Ivanti (formerly AppSense) Environment Manager configuration and personalisation management
- Patch Management
The person
Whilst qualifications in IT are highly regarded, it is industry experience (ideally three or more years ) in SOE Management roles that is most critical in ensuring success in this role. A strong sense of independence, technical knowledge and excellent communication skills are essential to be successful in this role.
The ideal candidate would have had experience in at least two of the following fields: Ivanti Environment Manager User management, IBM Endpoint Manager (IEM) software deployment, Group policy, or Public Key Infrastructure. You will be familiar with most of the following technologies: SOE development, deployment and maintenance; Software packaging; Windows 7/10; Office 2010/2016; VMware Horizon 6/7; and RDSH application publishing.
