Layer 7 Group and its managed services department are looking for switch on proactive geek to further develop themselves and us.

We are mainly focused in the verticals of Retail, Logistics and Manufacturing, so customer service, attention to detail, and urgency are traits that must be possessed along with a willingness to genuinely assist those in need and as requested.

We are and organically growing organisation with partnerships and locations in 6 different countries and 45 people making up who we are today.

Responsibilities:

• Perform requirements analysis and writing specifications 
• Analyse complex computer systems, identify problems, and develop and implement logical conclusions and effective solutions
• System installation, deployment, configuration and integration
• Proactive and regular communication with the business and other areas of IT whose work impacts, or depends upon, the IT Operations team
• Develop sound professional working relationships with IT colleagues, business staff and management, building their confidence and acquiring an understanding of the business
• Ensure that all Incident Requests are resolved within specified SLAs
• Ensure proper escalation procedures are followed and where required liaise with other support areas and 3rd parties to ensure problems are resolved within SLA
• Ensure any enhancement and project work is delivered to the agreed scope and on time and within budget (SLA)
• Ensure that IT Operations standards are followed and developed as required
• Ensure all relevant support documentation is accurate and regularly maintained
• Proactive monitoring and management of all environments to identify trends and potential problem areas
• Implement and maintain effective BCP solutions where required
• Work toward achieving and maintaining specialist knowledge of core critical services
• Performing all other related and compatible duties as assigned
• Ensuring compliance and achieving appropriate standards in regulatory, internal and external audits
• Ensure compliance group Code of Conduct, all internal policies and procedures and relevant statutory and regulatory requirements

Skills and Experience

• At least Bachelor Level Qualificationin either Computer Network Engineering or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in the field with clear evidence of the ability to integrate/manage the delivery and support of medium scale Infrastructure and IT Services

• Strong customer service focus with a realistic viewpoint on timeframes and limitations of environment
• Strong general judgement and action orientation coupled with strong problem solving skills in a complex IT environment
• Demonstrated planning skills and the ability to follow set plans, and work to deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure in fast paced, dynamic work environment
• Ability to work largely unsupervised
• Excellent documentation skills and detail orientated
• Extensive knowledge and experience with the Microsoft suite of products and their administration (Server, SCCM, Exchange, AD,O365 etc.) is required
• Extensive knowledge and troubleshooting experience with Virtual Platform technologies
• Proven administration, troubleshooting and networking experience in LANs, WANs, Firewalls, Routers, Switches and WAPs (via UI and CLI).
• Experience with Cisco, HP & Riverbedsuite of products and their administration is highly desired
• Experience in "Cloud" infrastructure and SaaS (MS Azure or AWS) is desired, but not essential
• Industry certifications (MCP, CCNA, MCSE, SCCM,VCP, CompTIA) are highly desired, but not essential
