We are on the lookout for a superstar Digital Architect to join the team on a permanent full-time basis working in our Melbourne office. Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide senior technical and delivery leadership across our Digital Marketplace portfolio, from concept through strategic alignment and into continuous and automated runtime releases and enhancement.

As a digital technical leader, you’ll strive to continually improve customer experience by defining, challenging, and evolving Suncorp’s digital technology architecture strategy. This includes playing a lead part in the definition and execution of the technical digital marketplace roadmap that supports the organisations strategic vision. The Digital Architect is also expected to continually identify new technological innovation that can be integrated into the Suncorp business to provide commercial value.

As a Digital Architect, you’ll perform the following key tasks

  • Consult with our Product Owners, Technical Partners and Customer Experience/Proposition teams to understand their goals and priorities for both new initiatives and the current portfolio of systems.
  • Develop and maintain the Digital Architectures for large and complex technical environments integrating across the group’s Digital Marketplace, Insurance, Banking and Wealth/Life domains
  • Defining and implementing large, complex digital client experiences integrated with master data, back-end transactional systems and clear considerations of security, availability and customer experience goals performance concerns.
  • Performance Engineering, High Availability and Problem Diagnosis across multidisciplinary teams including the use of cloud services (IAAS, PAAS, SAAS), vendor platforms, internal, external and open source frameworks.
  • Leadership in the selection, adoption and retirement of Web & Mobile Technologies
  • Practical application of AGILE approaches to key technologies and platforms
  • Influence and alignment with the Digital Technical Strategy including Architectural Principles, Technical Roadmaps, Application Roadmaps as well as architecture and development practices

As the ideal candidate, you will have the following experience

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or related disciplines (mandatory)
  • 12+ years technology industry experience required and professional consulting firm experience will be highly regarded
  • Developed and maintained the Digital Architectures for large and complex technical environments integrating across the industry related domains such as Insurance, Banking and Wealth/Life domains (Demonstrated leadership)
  • Defining and implementing large, complex digital client experiences integrated with master data, back-end transactional systems, security
  • Operational support including problem diagnosis across multidisciplinary teams including the use of cloud services (IAAS, PAAS, SAAS), vendor platforms and open source frameworks. (Demonstrated experience)
  • Demonstrated experience across key digital platforms and technologies including:
    • Web Single Page Apps (SPA) frameworks such as React.JS or AngularJS
    • Mobile App frameworks covering including iOS, Android and including React. Native
    • RESTful APIs – both provision and consumption
    • Java and related frameworks such as Spring
    • JavaScript runtime stacks like Node.JS,
    • Databases (SQL and NoSQL, on premise and AWS RDS),
    • Security patterns including OAuth2 and Open ID Connect
    • Identity and Access Management Solutions (e.g. Oracle IDAM, IBM Tivoli Stack)
  • Enterprise Web Content Management, preferably Adobe Marketing Cloud (Analytics, AEM, Target, Audience Manager)
  • Experience with cloud hosting platforms, particularly AWS, and familiarity with platform and container services like Docker / OpenShift
  • Demonstrated experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) principles and practices
  • Agile ways of working and familiarity with Tools and Techniques that support Agile (Jira, confluence, etc..)
