Medical-Objects is looking for a systems administrator to join our team at our head office on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The Sunshine Coast offers a warm climate and we are located only stone's throw from golden beaches.

The role of the System Administrator is to execute and provide technical services to Medical-Objects SMB Platform and to maintain the health and stability of the secure messaging network. You will need to demonstrate previous experience taking ownership of a technical environment, managing implementations and be able to work autonomously. This is a great opportunity as this role would require you to take ownership of the Medical-Objects IT environment. 

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications or Industry certifications plus at least 3 years' relevant work experience.
  • Experience in deploying, testing, monitoring and managing production systems and applications.
  • Experience in operating networking infrastructures.
  • Experience in commissioning and managing computer, storage and virtualisation infrastructures.
  • Experience with the monitoring, tuning and operation of backup and recovery systems.
  • Ability to manage virus and malware protection across a fleet of computers.
  • Ability to perform incident management.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written and experienced in documentation.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining policies e.g.Disaster Recovery, Risk Management and Security and BYOD. 
  • Experience with common ICT elements, including: Windows, ESXi, vSphere, vCenter, FTP, PostFix, SMTP, SMNP, SMB, VoIP/SIP, VPN, Certificates, VLANs, STP, ICMP, routing protocols, NATs, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and common ICT hardware.

Desirable Skills:

  • Managing Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Dell Server, Storage and Backup hardware.
  • Familiarity with Ubiquiti equipment.
  • Strong VMware server experience.
  • Experience with Atlassian products.
  • Operation & configuration of Cisco, Dell & Juniper networking equipment.
  • Managing the operation of Database servers, particularly MSSQL server, Firebird SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Asterisk Phone Systems.
  • Experience with PRTG Monitoring software.
  • A working knowledge of cloud systems, such as Office365, GoogleApps, and AWS.
  • ICT security disciplines.
  • Remote User access and security.
  • Scripting, Coding, Automation and/or DevOps.

This is a Full time position with long term employment prospects. Salary dependent on skills and experience.
