Green Light are looking for an Elastic Search Developer  to work in Sydney. As an ElasticSearch Developer, you will work with other System Engineers, SRE’s and with other Developers to ensure maximum performance, availability and product enhancements of our database services and infrastructure.

This position is for someone who is familiar with both software, systems engineering and ElasticSearch and to build a world class service for customers. 

Responsibilities:-

• Support and perform maintenance across product and data environments/systems
• Capacity planning and management for various services
• Resolve bugs, performance problems, and other issues with production applications
• Cross-train infrastructure team members in areas of expertise
• Create and maintain client-facing APIs, as well as write and maintain adapters to retrieve client data for these APIs – this includes writing SQL in multiple dialects as well as interacting with third party web servers and APIs
• Perform research to inform design decisions for new and existing products
• Contribute to source material for documentation of new and existing software
• Design and architect operational solutions for managing applications and infrastructure, across cloud providers with the specific goal of increasing the automation, repeatability, and consistency of operational tasks.

Experience looking for:-

• 10+years of relevant IT experience
• 5+ years of experience with Elasticsearch and a strong understanding of indexing, search, schema design, information retrieval and relevance tuning 
• Experience working in a Linux Environmen
• Experience working with either Bash or Perl scripts 
• Developing unit tests 
• Git/SVN experience 
• Experience with agile development methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming 
• Experience with Web services and messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or Kafka 
• Mastery of at least one server-side language such as Go, Java, PHP or Python 
• Solid understanding of API design 
• Experience with relational databases (such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) 
• JIRA experience a plus
