I am currently working with a global enterprise ICT vendor who is seeking an experienced Middleware specialist to join the team on a 3 month contract.
Salary: $50.00 to 70.08 per hour.
Location: Sydney
Role type: Consulting with end client
You will be joining the team as an experienced specialist with demonstrated capabilities and experience consulting on the z/OS mainframe environment.
This is a technical role joining an existing team and the successful candidate will be responsible for working hands on with WebSphere MQ, you will be required to work on the development, packaging and distribution of a solution.
The successful candidates will have the capability to deliver support for Middleware MQ problems, requests for service and administration of the MQ z/OS environment.
You will be required to ensure the services provided are up to date with client contracts as well as meet pre-set SLA's.

Role responsibilities:
- Demonstrated background and strong experience working hands on with installation, maintenance, configuration of the Z/OS platform supporting WebSphere MQ.
- WebSphere MQ expert level knowledge and experience.
- Work collaboratively with the team and client.
- Strong documentation creation and maintenance skills.
- You will be required to comply with existing documented key operations management practices and procedures in regards to change management, problem management, call management, situation management.
- Accountable for the maintenance and reliability of the technical systems Middleware environment in the Z/OS platform.
- Accountability for MQ upgrades.
- Familiarity with Z/OS operation environments and subsystems such as CICS, DB2 and IMS.
- Middleware system monitoring and record management particularly with SLA's.
- Monitor Middleware compliance.
- Data recording and monitoring accuracy.
- Assist in daily audit of Logs for any abnormal events.
- After hours on call support.
Specific Skills include: CICS, MQ, IMS, Unix, Window, Middleware V7 or V8 on Z/OS, JCL/ISPF, TCPIP networking.
Qualifications/Training.
- Must be Industry Certified within 12 months of commencing role for any other Middleware Product that is supported.
