Position Overview

 

The Developer in PayANZ is accountable for the successful support, design, development, and testing of assigned functional areas, programs or systems.

 

Responsibilities

  • Developing and supporting programs from specifications provided.
  • Writing programs which adhere to defined standards, and achieve the required quality standards of Ascender.
  • Planning and undertaking the testing of programs prior to delivery.
  • Liaising with stakeholders and assist with documentation.
  • Assisting in systems analysis, design and testing.
  • Providing support for live systems (where required by the client or Ascender to include out of hours support).
  • Providing technical advice to other staff.
  • Dealing with user queries in a professional manner.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Degree or proven experience in programming.
  • Experience in the development and support of a mission critical application.
  • Ability to carry out testing, programming, support and write reports with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to provide technical design skills.
  • Knowledge of writing solution designs, functional documentation and unit test plans.
  • Work well within a team.
  • Identify system failures and improvement opportunities.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Experience in buildpro, foxpro, javascript, html, .Net C#, SQL Server, Oracle Server, Linux Shell Script, XML, crystal reports would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge developing and supporting a payroll application would also be beneficial, but not compulsory.
