A complex, well-known organisation is seeking to engage an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a large ICT initiative. The successful candidate will review and re-position the currently approved business case for the ICT initiative and procure and implement a new solution design.
This is an initial 6 month contract opportunity, with the possibility of an extension, located in Brisbane's Western suburbs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project teams in the delivery of complex projects, ensuring that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained
- Manage and control resources, operational and capital costs against the project budget and manage expectations of all project stakeholders
- Actively support business change, act as a single point of contact for senior stakeholders and facilitate relationships between them
- Promote the change vision to staff at all levels of the business operation, and keep a focus on business objectives
- Work with senior people responsible for the line business operation to ensure maximum business operations improvements are made as the project delivers its products into operational use
- Maintain the business case for funding the program/project and confirm continuing business viability of the project/program at regular intervals.
- Manage project risk. Carry out risk assessment for identifying potential risk events, quantifying and documenting the probability of occurrence and the impact on the project and/or the business.
- Prepare briefing material and regular performance reports for key stakeholders.
- Manage change and stakeholder engagement to ensure that impacts are clearly articulated in a structured and planned manner.
Key Selection Criteria:
Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams in the delivery of complex projects
Significant experience managing major IT projects, as an enabler to business change that spans several functional areas in large, complex organisations
Significant experience managing competing stakeholder expectations and priorities to control scope, secure project resourcing, and maintain buy-in.
Demonstrated significant experience in the application of suitable project management methodologies, processes, and controls to ensure that projects and programs are delivered on time and budget and are fit-for-purpose.
Proven significant experience in the development of high quality project documentation, including business cases, project plans, quality, communication and procurement plans, work packages and reports
Demonstrated extensive experience in managing project budgets, including the ability to forecast cash-flows and maintain financial reporting requirements.
Proven significant experience in developing market engagement and procurement strategies, and managing procurement activities in relation to IT projects
Demonstrated significant experience in managing vendor and service provider contracts in the execution and delivery of IT projects
Demonstrated significant experience leading and mentoring project teams to achieve project outcomes
Desired Qualifications:
- A working knowledge of PRINCE2 project methodology is highly regarded
- A working knowledge of and/or accreditation in Agile project delivery is an advantage
- Hold a current motor vehicles drivers’ licence
