Our client, a reputable leader in their industry, requires an Information Security Engineer to support the Information Security Lead in securing the organisation's data from cyber risks.
This is a fairly new area to the organization so the successful candidate has the chance to make a rewarding contribution as you will have a large impact on the Cyber Security processes and frameworks and will have a key focus on ensuring compliance within the IT Engineering teams and throughout the whole organization.
This is a hands-on operational role and will involve detecting & responding to cyber intrusions whilst maintaining the right balance between risk & cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting operational Information Security tasks, including responding to Security incidents using the SIEM solution and responding to requests using ServiceNow;
- Undertake day-to-day activities of vulnerability management and work with the Technical Solutions team to recommend treatment plans and ensure the IT Group maintain compliance with its vulnerability management policies;
- Ensure all security systems are maintained and supported and vendor service agreements are in place and current.
- Assist with conducting periodic security vulnerability assessments over key systems and environments;
- Maintain up to date documentation and diagrams.
- Assist with delivering timely, fit for purpose information and cyber security solutions that provide authorised access to the right information from anywhere at any time;
- Assist with the on-going maintenance of PCI DSS compliance.
- Assist with securing information from cyber risks through identifying, protecting, detecting, responding to, and recovering from cyber intrusions;
- Work with the Technical Solutions team to ensure the integrity and security of the infrastructure environment; and
Essential Skills & Experience
- 3+ years' experience in an IT security support role
- CISSP or CISM certification
- Knowledge & experience using the ITIL framework
- Strong technical understanding of IT security concepts, such as Endpoint Security, Infrastructure Security, Patch and Vulnerability Management, Data Loss Prevention, & Security Incident & Event Monitoring.
- Excellent communication, both written & verbal. MUST be able to convey information effectively & professionally to users, management & technical staff
- Desirable: Experience using ServiceNow, McAfee Enterprise Security manager OR Nessus Manager is desirable, but not essential.
This is an initial 12-month role (with possible extensions or conversion to a permanent position), and a good annual salary (or potential contract rate) will be arranged for the successful candidate.
