Senior Manager - Database Services

This is an exciting and challenging role for the right person to take overall responsibility for all BAU activity across all business units, group wide.

This IS NOT a senior DBA role, rather a strategic appointment looking at all aspects of the database service and ensuring it aligns with overall business objectives. 

In terms of delivery and management of IT services to the business, this role will  have responsibility for Service design, Service Strategy and Build of Database Infrastructure and associated services.

This will also encompass all change, release and incident management

This is a business critical, autonomous role.
 
Overall responsibilities;

• Focus on Process Improvement across the database platform and overall business operation
• Service/Technology Plan. Responsibility to map technology investments, refresh plans, and retirement timelines based on key business trends and service consumption patterns
• Work with Data Centre, Application Owners, Database Service Analysts to translate these business requirements into product specifications.
• Service Level Management - accountability for forecasting demand for IT services, develop and maintain service level agreements with business partners, and manage service levels to support business outcomes
• Service Engineering. Accountability to drive Database technology architecture and operations to support service objectives
• Expand and maintain the offerings in the service catalogue
• Vendor Management. Responsibility to effectively manage and strengthen vendor relationships to align vendor products and services with IT strategy and IT service objectives

 
Required experience;

• Circa 10+ years working with Infrastructure technologies, preferably in the Enterprise workload ecosystem
• Strong experience working as a Product Owner or Senior Manager across Databases / Data warehouse
• Background with enterprise Database systems, requiring mission critical availability and stability
• Sound IT Service Management experience across the end to end service lifecycle, most importantly strategy, design and build
• Demonstrable experience in IT management roles
• Demonstrable experience in executive relationship management
