Who we are looking for:
This is a role for someone who knows DevOps is a culture and not a title (but we’ll give you one anyway because titles are nice). Itree is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to help deal with the increasing need for DevOps minded staff within our organisation.
If you are looking for hands on involvement in new and existing projects that will help shape and ultimately transform Itree into the DevOps unicorn it was always destined to be, then this is the job for you.
You will be responsible for the following:
- Working with IT, Development, Configuration, Quality Assurance and Delivery teams to identify pain points and assist with the development of solutions for these pain points
- Helping with the removal of natural walls between teams and spread the DevOps love with everyone
- Working with individuals across the business to troubleshoot and solve day to day problems recorded in our issue tracking system
- Improving and adapting existing automation systems to fit new requirements
- Suggesting better approaches to existing and new situations
- Understanding the importance of good documentation
Success in this role will be based on your understanding, prior experience or passion to learn the following key technology areas:
- How configuration management frameworks like Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc. work and what problems they aim to solve (we use Puppet in house) Bonus points if you are familiar with using the following tools:
- Foreman ENC
- R10k
- Vagrant
- Windows Deployment Services
- Windows and Linux based server administration skills
- Familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence and how to use them
- Understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts. Actual proficiency in at least one language would also be awesome!
- Proficiency in one (or more) scripting language/s. Bonus points if you know Powershell.
- Familiar with Continuous Integration principles. Bonus points if you are proficient with Jenkins from an Administrative perspective
- Docker and container orchestration tools / concepts (for longer term strategies)
- Experience working within cloud platforms like AWS and Azure
- Understanding of version control systems like Git, Mercurial, Subversion etc. and why they are important. Bonus points if you know how to use them
- Knowledge of, or administrative experience in, any of the following additional applications:
- Gitlab
- Sonarqube
- Nexus Repository Manager
- Tricentis Tosca Distributed Execution
Only Australian citizens or permanent residents will be considered for this role. It is a condition of employment that the successful candidate be able to obtain a National Police Certificate clearance.
