About the Role & your Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst, Engineer will take on a technical development & support role within the Acquiring & Switching team. This is a growing team of developers playing a key role in the delivery, design, development, integration and maintenance of products onto our servers.
Key responsibilities of the role will be as follows:
- Medium to large complexity software development - designing, coding, testing and installing applications programs
- Assisting in the analysis and design of applications programs and databases
- Integrating multi-tiered vendor-provided products into the bank
- Debugging & fixing any defects in code
- Responsible for code reviews, white-box testing & test framework maintenance
- Providing support on significant production changes & issues when required and being part of a 24x7 on-call roster
- Liaising and engaging internal and external stakeholders including IBM, vendors and internal users
Key Skills and Experience:
- Strong experience in a similar technology role; ideally within financial technology
- Degree qualified in Computer Science or similar preferred
- Windows server and Oracle /SQL Server database analysis experience
- Technical expertise in PL/SQL, VB Script, C#, .NET, Windows Server will be highly regarded
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimisation, Control-M, ITIL, Websphere, GitHub, Artifactory or Jenkins.
- Exposure to build and automation tools (Git, Jenkins) and Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with stakeholders (both users and product owners)
- Ability to support team members and peers, provide coaching and advice to colleagues to ensure the achievement of team goals
- Superior analysis and problem solving skills, with the ability to work independently and own issues through to resolution
- Willingness to learn & apply new learning to problem-solve
