Project Manager

Hansen Technologies, a global leader in billing and customer care software solutions to the Utilities, Pay-Tv and Telecommunications industries is looking to hire an energetic, innovative, tech savvy and experienced Project Manager to join its Hub product team which is responsible for all delivery aspects of the Hub solutions clients in the energy sector.

Based in Melbourne, you’d initially be joining our fast-growing business to support an existing and highly valued VIC based client undertaking significant Transformational Change partnering with Hansen to develop leading edge solutions for their business.


The main purpose of this role is to ensure that all new major projects are properly managed in terms of:

  • Delivery to schedule and to budget for a multi-year Roadmap
  • Team Leadership
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Management of appropriate change governance processes
  • Meeting the flexible delivery and quality expectations of the Hansen and the client

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end responsibility for the project management life cycle
  • Management of client relationship from inception to delivery in terms of scope, quality, time frames, reporting, and the solution delivered.
  • Development, maintenance and monitoring of detailed project plans; ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget; and deviations to the plan are appropriately highlighted in a timely manner.
  • Reporting of project progress internally, including envisaged Issues and Risks, changes to baselined schedules, and progress against budget.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project liability
  • Co-ordinate the activities of Business Analysts, Product Owner, Solution Architect, Programmers and Testers in development of the project solution as well as defect resolution.
  • Implement all tested program code into the client’s UAT environment, ensuring documented change control processes are adhered to.

Key knowledge and skills

  • Experience with billing system products in the energy or telecommunications sectors preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience working with Agile methodology. Working knowledge of JIRA is preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience managing and delivering medium to large projects (e.g. 12 to 24 months duration with extensive scope within a complex systems environment).
  • Commercial Software Vendor experience, comprehensive exposure to software development.
  • Excellent stakeholder Management both internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated project management experience within the software technology sector.
  • Effective planning and management of project schedules within times, resources and quality constraints.
  • Hands-on experience in managing software development teams and knowledge of web technologies.
  • Ability to manage interdependent project streams concurrently
  • Experience working within constraints to accommodate changing requirements
  • Excellent team leadership and team building skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Possesses a problem solving and prioritisation mindset to meet stakeholder expectations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business.
