Data Analyst - SQL/Excel - Government

We are looking for data analysts with good exposure using SQL & Excel to join a well known financial institution company based in the CBD. This role will give you outstanding commercial and internal growth for your career.
 
Experience

• Degree within Data Analysis or other related field
• 2+ years experience as a Data Analyst using SQL
• 1 - 3 years experience using SQL to write queries
• Interest in analytics and hunger to learn more
• Any exposure
• Experience exploring large sets of data from predefined requirements
• Experience in data quality and process improvement
• Experience of extracting data from multiple databases and understanding inter-relationships and mapping criteria

 
Role:

• Ensure established data management processes and procedures are being followed accurately and efficiently
• Prepare data monitoring reports to identify data quality and completeness issues across the enterprise system landscape
• Take ownership of data quality exceptions and ensure that these are resolved in line with cross functional and entity data requirements
• Continuous improvement of processes and procedures, highlighting inefficiencies and recommending and implementing change
• Active involvement in key projects, ensuring that enterprise data requirements can be met and supported

 Skills:

• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in SQL 
• Ability to understand the interrelationship of data across systems and ability to extract and analyse data
• MS Excel (Macros) and Office
• Strong communication skills are essential for interacting at all levels and across business disciplines
• Willingness to learn and take ownership of completing tasks
• Ability to solve problems and explain underlying issues to non-technical colleagues
