This is a newly created position that will see the successful candidate work with other talented individuals in the process of defining and delivering the best public cloud service offerings to the market. 

You will work as part of a Pre-Sales Cloud Strategy team and will take responsibility as a Snr Solutions Architect specialising in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other cloud technologies. 

Your responsibilities will include the following:  

• Provide advisory and thought leadership on Google Cloud Platform services.
• Deliver architecture and design activities.
• Initially assist when required in the build and deployment of infrastructure and technical delivery of professional services.
• Work closely with their global Google Practice Team to design and maintain good practice blueprints for their supported workloads.
• Empower enterprises with the information necessary to make easy technology buying decisions.
• Assist in designing flexible and supportable solutions to customer problems utilizing the many different technology offerings in their product portfolio.
• Help businesses become more agile and derive value from new technologies and processes.
• Help develop and mentor technical colleagues in the Google Platform.

The person sought will become a recognised subject matter expert and thought leader with deep expertise in providing technical design and implementation advice to both new and existing customers. The person will be focused on engaging with their customers. 

The person sought will possess a number of the following traits and commercial experience:

• Proven capability to understand client capabilities, application-based architecture best practices, commercial models and other requirements which will help customers plan and execute their transformations to Google Cloud Platform.
• You will possess hands-on experience with a broad variety of Enterprise computing infrastructure and cloud computing technologies and will be well versed in various business verticals and the specific challenges they face.  
• Very strong customer facing skills, working closely with business and technical influencers, IT Professionals, other staff and partners.
• Proven experience providing technical strategy, competitive differentiation, and value proposition of their solutions.
• The right candidate will have multiple years’ experience with public cloud platforms like GCP. They also will have served as a subject matter expert in designing and migrating enterprise-grade applications to live in the cloud.
• you will be highly-skilled in complex cloud deployments and adept at the design and implementation of complex platforms.
• Previous experience in pre sales presentations and significant customer engagements is essential. 
• Proven experience in the development and where relevant negotiation of Scope of Work (SOW) documents for professional services engagements.
• Ideally you can show where you have orchestrated and lead advisory and delivery efforts for Cloud Strategy, and Business transformation through DevOps transformation projects inclusive of discovery, analysis, solution design and implementation.

Specific technical capabilities: 

• Experience with Google Cloud Services including Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud DNS, Cloud Storage, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud Load Balancing, and BigQuery Highly Desirable. 
• Experience on a comparable Public Cloud offering (i.e. AWS or Azure would definitely be considered). 
• Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
• Infrastructure automation toolsets such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
• Solid knowledge of infrastructure automation and applications development would be great. 
• Previous Design of native Cloud applications, Cloud application design patterns and practices.
