Overview of Role:
The purpose of the Network Engineer is to provide network architecture, product development and tier-3 support to the operational team on the IP & MPLS Network.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide R&D for business growth.
- Provide network design for BAU operations.
- Provide product development support to the sales & products teams.
- Develop technical design documentations (HLD, LLD, Network Drawings, Test Plans & Test Reports).
- Provide internal training when requested by the business.
- Provide tier-3 support to the operational team.
- Intermittently provide hardware procurement to the business.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Mandatory Degree qualification in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field.
- Industry certification (or equivalent) to the level of CCNP.
- Industry certification (or equivalent) to the level of CCIE is preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in an operational role.
- Minimum 3+ years' experience working in an ISP environment.
- Demonstrate experience in managing the delivery of network projects.
- Understanding of development issues surrounding product development.
- Essential skills in OSPF, BGP, FRR, BFD, LDP, RSVP, VLL and VPLS.
- Essential experience in Cisco & Huawei.
- Proven experience in Alcatel or Ciena will be a bonus.
- Proven troubleshooting skills on network related faults.
- Strong verbal and communication skills.
- Strong documentation skills.
