As an Application Support Analyst you will be part of the Sustainment Performance Management System (SPMS) team. You will provide support desk services to a user community of 1200-1500 civilians, ADF and contractors from junior staff to senior executives.

SPMS is an application operating on the Defence ICT network that assists a diverse stakeholder community manage and report on the performance of Defence capability sustainment. The role provides application support by conducting user administration and managing data elements within the application. The role also is responsible for managing and completing support requests for the application and its operation within the larger Defence ICT network, as well as a range of associated administrative activities. The role includes the receipt and translation of data from other applications into a format consumable by SPMS.


MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive data uploads in .xls/.txt/.csv format from Defence data owners and transform the data using existing transformation spreadsheets. Upload the transformed data onto the application and maintain data integrity.
  • Coordinate (triage) and carry out support tasks received via email or phone from application users. Provide feedback to the user base on actions taken.
  • Create and modify existing transformation spreadsheets to adapt to changes in business or system.
  • Create and maintain of Knowledge Based Articles, help guides and process documentation relating to the support role as required.
  • Raise incident and change requests through the Defence ticketing system, HP Quality Centre. Follow up and monitor the requested as required.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • NV1 security clearance - essential.
  • Relevant data, support or ICT qualification - preferred.


Experience:

  • A sound understanding of Excel Spreadsheets - essential.
  • 1 years Customer Service experience in ICT, preference of focus in Application support - preferred.
  • Understanding of ticketing systems, in particular Defence ICT support and development lifecycle - preferred.


Skills:

  • Strong Customer service focus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Intermediate, preferably advanced, Microsoft Office skills - with a strong focus on Excel
    (creating macros, writing formulae, and basic Visual Basic skills), Outlook.
  • Organised and able to meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the project.
  • Good documentation practice.


PERFORMANCE GOALS:

  • Complete data transformation, and uploads in a timely manner.
  • Maintain prompt correspondence and support with application’s users seeking support assistance.
  • Maintain organised and accurate records of support tasks and outcomes.
  • Maintain awareness of all current incident and change requests.
