A six month contract role with a view to either extend or convert to permanent has become available for a Disaster Recovery Specialist. The role is with a major client based in the Melbourne CBD who offers work/life/balance and the opportunity to work from home.

The purpose of the role is to provide expertise and co-ordination over the following IT Disaster Recovery areas:

• Disaster Recovery (DR) & Service Continuity in general
• Risk and compliance management
• Supporting Business Continuity (BC) and DR audit and review activities
• Development and maintenance of policies, standards, guidelines and procedures aligned with recognized best practices
• Develop, implement and manage the enterprise Information Technology (IT) Disaster Recovery (DR) program
• Ensure integration with business continuity efforts
• Timely IT operations recovery following an interruption in service caused by a prolonged technology system outage or declared disaster
• Supervises/manage resources who are allocated to and/or responsible for accomplishing DR program activities during a DR event

IT Disaster Recovery Specialist is responsible for the hands-on management approach to designing, planning, maintaining and managing a DR environment, plan for and run the restoration of missioncritical business applications activities, conducts and participates in risk/threat vulnerability studies and impact assessments.
They will ensure IT Disaster Recovery artifacts are current and schedule regular audits and tests across systems and technology.
