Your new company

We are now looking for an experienced Application Support Specialist to join a large state government organisation for a 12 month fixed-term in central Geelong.

Your new role
In this role, you will provide a range of technical services supporting, maintaining, deploying and enhancing applications.

This role will see you:

• Specify user/system interfaces, and translate logical designs into physical designs taking account of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems
• Produce detailed designs and document all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate
• Design, code, test, correct, and document moderately complex programs and program modifications from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools
• Identify and resolve issues with applications, following agreed procedures.
• Use application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate:

• Technical proficiency in Java, JavaScript, HTML5, SQL and PL/SQL
• Significant experience in a similar role, supporting, developing, maintaining and improving web and mobile applications
• Solid understanding of technologies and frameworks such as React, Node.js, JSP, Servlets, CSS3, Bootstrap, Docker and Spring
• Good understanding of Application Security

• End-to-end experience in enterprise application analysis and development
• Demonstrated expertise in the technical aspects of software package configuration
• Expertise in software development and configuration for custom-built applications
• Experienced in ITIL Foundations, principles and application
• Experience with, or knowledge of, the following tools: Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Jenkins, ServiceNow, Puppet, jMeter, Cucumber, Selenium, Spunk
• Advanced professional written communication skills; proven ability to write quality business documentation, functional and non-functional artefacts, and technical documentation for a wide variety of audiences and purposes

Please note: This position requires flexibility to provide support coverage between 7:00am to 7:00pm. On call arrangements will be required on a rotational basis to provide 24x7 support.
