You will assume technical responsibility for all stages of the software development process to ensure compliance with application development standards and achievement of documented requirements. It is expected that you will utilise technical expertise in the requirements analysis phase to ensure the solution is both fit for purpose and fit for use, have wide and deep practical knowledge of the technology required by the project (in particular ASP.net Core framework) and be passionate about sharing that knowledge with the team.

You will: 

• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards. 
• Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code. 
• Package and support deployment of releases. 
• Balance competing demands to ensure application development objectives are achieved 

Key responsibilities: 

• Read and understand abstract business and solution designs, data models and API definitions.
• Review Business and Systems Analyst artifacts and develop solution component designs consistent with development principles.
• Communicate these designs to the Solution Architect and negotiate changes to Business or Solution Architecture if required.
• Estimate the effort required to develop the system components from the designs and proactively communicate issues and variances relating to those estimates.
• Develop ASP.net Core system components including application, test, and help.
• List development principles and develop coding standards consistent with those principles and communicate them to the team.
• Take part informal review of system components to ensure principles and standards are honored.
• Develop and document release management processes to support unit, integration and user acceptance testing.
• Ensure all team members are capable of providing release management support.
• Understand the strengths and weaknesses of each member of the team and help lift their skills as required.
• Contribute to discussions on business, solution and technical architecture.
• Ensure that deadlines for software build, testing and deployment are met based on business needs (or similar)
• Capacity to communicate technical terms and ideas to a non-technical audience 
• Experience working with MVC, WebAPI & Angular
