Legal Service Delivery Team

MinterEllison’s Legal Service Delivery team is focussed on utilising people expertise, refined business processes, innovative digital platforms and automation to facilitate the delivery of all our legal services across the business. This team strives to implement leading innovative technology solutions to our legal teams and clients and has been internationally recognized for their developments in this field.

Our Project Services group is MinterEllison's internal applied legal technology group, specialising in electronic litigation, web based data rooms and data project management.  This national group works closely with the firm's lawyers to streamline data intensive processes to produce efficient and cost effective outcomes.

Your role

The Project Services team is responsible for the implementation and management of legal technology for litigation and transactional matters on behalf of MinterEllison and its clients. Project Services' Technical Consultant is responsible for identifying and implementing best practice technical solutions within the team while maintaining matters as a litigation or transaction focused legal technology consultant.

The Technical Consultant will remain operational while  leveraging their experience and professional networks in support of their role. They will be able to foster strong relationships within other groups across MinterEllison, such as the IT team, in the identification, development and implementation of technical solutions. This role can be based in either Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne. 

Some of your responsibilities will be to:

• Proactively identify areas of technical improvement within the team's toolkit and workflow and facilitate the implementation of solutions
• Acts as project manager in the development of technical solutions, including scoping studies and business case assessment, and then liaises with stakeholders across MinterEllison and externally in the implementation of those solutions
• Coaches and mentors the Project Services team in respect to any new systems implemented
• Acts as the point of contact for "whole-of group" technical issues that require investigation or development
• Operates as an effective consultant, ensuring that billing and service level targets are met
• Proactively engages with the legal technology industry to ensure that our tools and technical capabilities are industry-leading now and into the future.

What you need

We welcome applications from candidates who possess:

• Experience and/or a strong understanding of the legal technology industry
• Proven ability to provide technically correct advice that takes into account legal, financial, technical and client implications
• Consulting expertise in matters involving complex review databases, data analytics engines and technical assisted review workflows
• Advanced technical skills in the suite of software used within Project Services, including but not limited to review platforms, document processing engines, virtual data rooms, contract review tools and document management tools
• Proven ability to deliver on multiple deadlines that are impacted by a range of stakeholders across MinterEllison and externally
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and change management skills
