The Role:
 
IT Disaster Recovery Specialist is responsible for the hands-on management approach to designing,
planning, maintaining and managing a DR environment, plan for and run the restoration of missioncritical
business applications activities, conducts and participates in risk/threat vulnerability studies
and impact assessments

 
They will ensure IT Disaster Recovery artifacts are current and schedule regular audits and tests
across systems and technology.
 
The successful candidate for this role will have the following skills, knowledge and experience;

• Demonstrated knowledge of disaster response and recovery strategies, plans and procedures, and experience in the design and administration of disaster exercises and drills.
• Strong understanding of Disaster Recovery technology and Infrastructure, as well as maintenance, reporting and testing procedures
• Relevant business continuity, disaster recovery, risk or audit certifications preferred, such as Business Continuity Certified Planner (BCCP) or Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certification, (MBCP) Master Business Continuity Professional, (CBCP) Certified Business Continuity Professional, (ABCP) Associate Business Continuity Professional, (CRISC) Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control
• Experience in performing business continuity audits or experience in managing and coordinating the response to a major, unplanned disruptive event that required activation of the BC/DR/incident or crisis management plans
• Knowledge of asset and configuration management within a DR IT environment encompassing both hardware and software, including their asset life-cycle
• Demonstrated skills in developing and writing reports and business cases
• Knowledge of IT Information Library (ITIL V3) and its application (e.g., release management, change management, problem management and security incident management).
