Role Description

  • The role is responsible for dealing with day to day technical requests and issues assigned from all areas of the business mostly via an in house defect management tool, as well as the analysis and enhancement of the firm’s distribution platform.
  • The role function will work closely with all parties representing the SDLC, and Back Office Operations to assist where possible in general business queries, system development build, defect management and requirements gathering.
  • This role primarily covers amending user and/or system created errors, managing task systems via, data management via MSSQL, debug root cause via Microsoft Visual Studio and communicating business information to clients and stakeholders.
  • It may also involve maintaining relationships at various levels with clients, product providers, counterparties and regulators in order to ensure a superior level of service, and may also include other related duties as required from time to time.

Experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or other Sciences or equivalent working experience. Degree preferable in either Commerce or IT; (A-B + average) or equivalent;
  • Some experience with Microsoft .NET development products, including C#, VB.NET and SQL Server, beneficial but not essential;
  • Some Australian superannuation industry experience beneficial but not essential;
  • good SQL skills;
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic fast-paced industry;
  • Superior analytical thinking;
  • Able to take initiative;
  • Independent, self directing and delivery focused working style;
  • Good communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients;
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills;
  • Familiarity with financial markets and products preferred but not essential;
  • Commitment to working long hours at times, particularly around project deadlines, in exchange for commensurate rewards;
  • Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills.
  • An expectation of timeliness, accuracy, and effective solutions is expected from each of these areas.
  • A high level of technical problem solving skills will result in meeting these expectations.
