The Role

The Applications Support Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and support of Capricorn’s production applications suite. As part of the IT Operations team, accountability resides with the Applications Support Administrator to ensure the performance and effectiveness of Capricorn’s applications are maintained at optimum levels to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with the business. Further to the production environment, the Applications Support Administrator is also responsible for the provision of systems administrative level support to the Development and Test environments. 

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of Capricorn’s application environment, including the Epicor ERP and Pure Underwriting product suites.
  • Creation of scripts to automate procedures and workflow.
  • Development of applications, portals and processes to enhance the ability of the IT Operations and Service Desk teams to support and facilitate day to day maintenance tasks.
  • Provision, configure and deploy applications and supporting tools.
  • Participate and if required, take the lead in coordinating and deploying releases of products and applications.
  • Ensuring the development and test lab environments are maintained at production like levels with regards to availability, integrity and performance.
  • Provide Systems Administration level support for all Development and Test environment users.
  • Perform configuration, troubleshooting and performance tuning work across the multiple lab environments
  • As part of the Applications Support team, provide primary support for all application related faults and issues.
  • Complete IT infrastructure projects as allocated, meeting deadlines and providing deliverables in a timely manner
  • After hours and weekend work will be required from time to time.

Experience Required

We’re also looking for skills in the following areas:

  • Application development experience in C#.
  • PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Previous experience using MVC (Model View Controller)
  • Experience with the Epicor ERP 10 platform (Desired)
  • Experience managing VMware vSphere (Desired).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Systems or Application Administration position.
  • Minimum 5 years IT industry experience.
  • Tertiary qualifications including TAFE certificate or university degree within IT is desirable
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification is desirable.
