About The Role
Service Stream's Network Construction division are currently seeking a Senior Technician to join our Wireless Telecommunications team. Reporting directly to the Technical Officer, you will be responsible for conducting and supervising technical installation and commissioning of mobile base station integration works within a live mobile network. Based in Lutwyche (QLD), and offered on a Permanent, Full Time basis, this position offers an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and commission of RBS equipment and ancillary equipment (RBS2000 series, RBS3000 series, RBS6000 series, equipment racks, RPS, telemetry and alarms systems, PDH/SDH radio systems, optical fibre systems)
Installation and commission of RF system and ancillary equipment (feeder, TMA, antenna, RRU, RRH, filters, combiners, splitters)
Supervision of external contactors and internal staff
Compliance Testing (PIM, RF-Distance to fault, RF-Return loss, optic fibre testing (insertion loss)
Fault finding and rectification associated with technical installation works detailed above
Accurate and timely completion of site acceptance and handover documents (MS006, ITP, Test Reports, QSE documents)
Responsible of site HSE compliance as the Principal Contractors' Representative
Completion of Site Design Visits and associated documents
Skills and Experience
Extensive experience in base station deployment and working in live networks
In depth understanding of current generation mobile base station technologies
An excellent understanding of current mobile network installation standards and practices
In depth understanding of current transmission technologies
Highly developed fault finding and rectification skills
In depth knowledge of DC power systems
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Current Driver's license
Relevant technical qualifications to Diploma level (or similar)
Relevant industry certifications (EME etc)
Current construction inductions/certifications (Working at Heights, Blue Card, White Card etc)
