Visionstream – Systems Engineer – Heatherton VIC
Based in our Heatherton office in Victoria, the System Engineer has a key responsibility in the identification, development, testing and deployment of Emergency Alerting System (EAS) service changes to continue providing our clients with excellence in service delivery.
Day to day, the System Engineer’s responsibilities would include:
- Creating, updating and providing maintenance of all scripts, processes and custom applications utilised to run the EAS, including appropriate change management and audit tracking of changes using appropriate software.
- Managing and maintaining internal databases and systems used by project personnel including Remedy, Spectrum, Splunk etc. to ensure working condition and completion of enhancements as required.
- Facilitate the development of requests into a detailed design and implementation plans
About you
- Your previous experience building and maintaining servers in a multi-site Linux environment will give you the right technical exposure to succeed in the role.
- You will have ideally had exposure to Linux Administration (preferably Redhat Enterprise), Automation/Orchestration tools experience (eg. Ansible), Continuous Integration/Testing frameworks (eg. Jenkinks), Enterprise NMS (CA Spectrum preferred), DB2 / Tivoli Systems Automation, VMWare vSphere Administration and programming languages (including Python, Linux scripting, PERL, SQL).
- Your practical experience will be underpinned by a relevant diploma or degree in engineering and/or possess extensive applicable industry experience.
