Our client based in Melbourne CBD is now looking for Technology Architect with Hadoop experience.

Below is the detailed JD :
Qualification/ Technical Expertise:
  
  • Extensive professional IT experience in the areas of: IT solution delivery, business intelligence, data warehousing, and information management
  • Experience in Hadoop (Prefer Cloudera), Kafka, Flume, Spark Streaming, Spark, HBase, Kudu, Hive, Spark SQL etc.
  • Experience in demonstrating enterprise security and enterprise operational requirements into the data platform architecture and solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in Scrum & XP
  • Engage and develop relationships with key partners and stakeholders to clearly understand the specific business &/or technology challenges, initiatives, and questions to be answered
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • Data Platforms Architecture and Delivery - Big Data Platform architecture not limited to Hadoop ( Prefer Cloudera), Kafka, Flume, Spark Streaming, Spark, HBase, Kudu, Hive, Spark SQL etc.
  • Experience in architecting large-scale cloud native solutions (preferably Azure) complying with enterprise identity and security standards
  • Experience in Data warehousing, data modelling and BI
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tooling & implementing into a complex enterprise data warehouse
  • Planning and Analysis - Highly developed strategic and tactical planning skills, including strong analytical skills and the ability to recommend action
  • Stakeholder management - Contributes to stakeholder identification and helps to develop stakeholder engagement plan
  
Key Accountabilities :
  • Spearhead the architecture development and implementation of big data platforms on cloud-based initiatives to ensure that systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and supportable and that they achieve business and IT performance and budgetary objectives
  • Develops sound cloud computing solutions incorporating appropriate technologies that meet the needs of a variety of business scenarios. Reviews and recommends the suitability of, as well as the implications of, cloud computing for a given application considering several technical and non-technical aspects
  • Liaise with, and align with Enterprise Security, Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Architecture and other shared enterprise architecture and platforms to devise the data platform and architecture solutions  
  • Software engineering experience building platforms and applications using BigData technologies (Hadoop (Prefer Cloudera), Kafka, Flume, Spark Streaming, Spark, HBase, Kudu, Hive, Spark SQL etc.)  within the BI Delivery team to facilitate the successful delivery of EDW/BI Development initiatives to meet the business need
  • Provide SME support to the various development teams of utilizing Big Data and CI/CD technologies and concepts
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating data platform architecture and solutions that balance risk, reduce cost while being simultaneously able to increase service.
  • Participate to the deepening maturity of process and practices
  • Elicit and comprehend business context & needs from end users, development engineers and subject matter experts, converting requirements into User stories and Features with testable acceptance criteria
  • Work in an Agile team environment, learning from others on the job and also teaching skills to other members of the team in a collaborative manner
  • Liaise with, and align to CD/CD capabilities of other development teams within the Telstra IT community
  • Demonstrated experience in working with Agile principles and practices, including an understanding of the value of individuals and interactions over processes and tools and the importance of collaboration 
  • A focus on continual improvement of process & practice; a willingness to question ways of working
