A Global Data Centre Solutions provider is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to join their Australian Sales Engineering team.

Working closely with the Sales Director for Australia, you will support the sales team for a list of client accounts in Australia and those clients overseas looking for services locally.

You will be involved from the beginning of any sale, all the way through construction, fit out, to customer move in. You will interface with on-site property management, design & construction, engineering, connectivity and security teams during the implementation.
You will understand the requirements of each of these groups and customers demands to develop a solution that adheres to all.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support sales team in technical sales and designing solutions for customers in Australia  
  • Direct customer engagement, leading building and site tours, sales calls and proposal generation and representing engineering ( electrical, mechanical, structural, fire protection) guidelines, pricing, and contract negotiations.
  • Act as the primary input channel for operations and sales teams  
  • Evaluate customer needs, and then design and present a solution that meets the data entre guidelines and meets all the customer requirements 
  • Serve as the primary responder to customer RFP's
  • Develop cost engineering and profitability models for large customer opportunities
  • Liaise with and support connectivity, design, and construction teams in eventual construction
  • Generate sales leads through professionals contacts and networking
  • Participate in forecasting, pipeline and market analysis
  • Monitor and evaluate trends in customer and target tenant base 
Requirements
  • Experience in a Sales Engineer role working directly for a Data Centre or for a Data Centre/ IT Infrastructure provider
  • Could suit an Engineering/ Operations/ Facitlies Manager within a Data Centre looking for a change 
  • Customer facings skills preferably in a sales role and ability to talk with technical clients about data centres.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical and business concepts quickly
  • Bachelors Degree - preferably in an analytical field like engineering
  • Software skills Autocad, Visio, MS Word Excel

It will give you a broad understanding of a date centre business across design & construction, engineering & operations, property, and asset management.
This is a sales before a technical role, someone with the vision capability to come up with workable solutions.
