Role

The role is of a technical specialist who will lead the build and implementation of data management/analytics solutions using the tools available within the department. Role is a hands-on position which requires technical expertise to build/support data solutions and enforce project standards, benchmark application performance metrics as well as provide leadership/guidance to Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and other team members to achieve the project outcomes.
  
Key accountabilities

• Lead solutions for data management/analytical projects, and will be responsible for meeting development schedules and ensuring the solution meets the technical specifications, design requirements, best practices and coding standards.
• Lead the development of high quality data analysis and reporting.  Provide expert input to the design of projects to enable project delivery and a sound assessment of outcomes.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to other team members to achieve high levels of performance in meeting the project/unit objectives and a culture of ongoing capability development.
• Understanding of project workflows including the concept of research, development and production builds and how to move between them.
• Support compliance with data, information and security management requirements of DAC.                                   

Key Skills

• Solid exposure of RDBMS and strong SQL hands-on experience
• Solid understanding of ETL and data management solutions with sound exposure to Talend.
• Understanding of Hadoop and Spark highly desirable.
• Scripting in Python &/or R highly regarded.
