Aveo, Australia's leading retirement village owner/operator is seeking an experienced, motivated and pro-active Networking and Infrastructure Engineer based in our Brisbane corporate office in a full time role
About the role:
Reporting to the Infrastructure Architect, you will ensure the integrity of the Aveo Wide Area Network and associated hardware and provide advice and guidance to the team on best practice and future trends. Working closely with the Infrastructure Architect
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Work with divisional staff in designing the network applications for new sites and developments
- Ensure technology projects are appropriately documented and transitioned to BAU and support processes
- Provide consultancy to the operational business in terms of (but not limited to) network security, telephony, networked devices and tools
- Ensure Aveo Group's technical and architectural standards are documented and remain aligned with technology advances
- Manage relationships with external vendor partners
- Deal with service "problems" or "incidents" in accordance with agreed escalation protocol and service level matrix
To be considered for this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in electronic/computer systems engineering, computer science or Information Technology and related disciplines
- Significant demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Extensive experience with Windows Server 2012/2016 and Windows 10
- Knowledge of the following:
- MS Exchange and Office 365 administration
- MS SQL database administration
- Microsoft patching regimes and their application
- VMWare ESX/ESXi servers and VMWare SRM
- SD WAN technologies
- Nutanix (highly regarded)
- 802.11 and 082.1x experience
- Azure and associated cloud technologies
- Skype for Business/MS Lync administration and management
- McAfee anti-virus product suite
- Extensive knowledge of IT security, including hardening guidelines
- Strong enterprise networking skills, switch, router and firewall management in a large IP/MPLS environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivation and ability to operate in a team environment
- Excellent problem solving capacity
