This is a full time role, however part time arrangements to 4 days a week are a possibility to be negotiated with the successful candidate

AFL SportsReady is an independent, not-for-profit company, established in 1994, which is dedicated to helping young Australians to develop careers through traineeships and educational opportunities.

We have kick-started the careers of approximately 13,000 young jobseekers, including over 1,500 Indigenous Australians, and helped develop over 700 sporting organisations and other businesses across Australia.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The position is responsible for proactively managing, maintaining and improving AFL SR’s information technology capacity and systems.  This is an important role for the company and a fantastic opportunity to play an important ‘behind the scenes’ role in helping AFL SR to make a difference in the lives of young people through education and employment.  The position will suit a highly proactive person, who is comfortable working autonomously and with a high degree of initiative.  We’re looking for someone whose technical IT skills are complemented by great communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion to make a difference.

The key areas of responsibility for this role are:

  • IT Management and Leadership: Manage and oversee AFL SR’s Information Technology systems.
  • IT Operations: Support and maintain AFL SR’s Information Technology systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review and improve  AFL SR’s Information Technology systems and operations.
  • Customer Support: Trouble shooting and customer service.
  • IT Projects: Lead and support a range of IT projects and initiatives.

  • Base salary between $81k and $87.5k per annum (commensurate with experience);

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Qualifications in Information/Computer Science or related field.
  • Demonstrable experience working in Information Technology roles.
  • Demonstrable experience with IT system management.
  • Strong knowledge and hands on experience with Office 365 Admin centre.
  • Demonstrated understanding and practice of respect for people across a range of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong cultural fit with mission and ethos of AFL SR.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent relationships and stakeholder management skills.
  • A high degree of proactivity and initiative, and a demonstrated ‘continuous improvement’ mindset.
  • Desirable – experience with consulting and project management, business and technology analysis, and with JobReady systems.
