A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Linux/Cloud Services Engineer to join a highly reputable, Global Services Organisation on an initial 12 month contract. This position will be tasked primarily with designing, managing and supporting IS services which include hosted data centres, public cloud (AWS), backup services, managed networks and system security. Based out of their new Macquarie Park Office, you will join a friendly but highly professional team that values attention to detail and efficiency in their work.

Reporting directly in to the Cloud Services Manager, your main responsibilities in this role includes:

• Managing production servers and the associated infrastructure environment in both the hosted datacentre and public cloud
• Effectively monitoring, maintaining, administering and troubleshooting all production systems, using automation where possible 
• Ensuring that SLA's and KPI's are being measured and met according to what is agreed with the business
• Ensuring that all change management practices are adhered to with all deployments of production chances
• Ensuring that JSOX and ISO 27001 standards are being met for all in scope systems
• Ensuring all data is backed up in line with backup policy and procedures
• Ensuring that all documentation (ie. server & storage diagrams, operational procedures, etc) are kept in line with the changing infrastructure architecture
• Providing direct input in the planning, designing, engineering and implementation of new solutions & services to meet business requirements
• Analysing, reviewing and recommending associated systems engineering tools and processes to support new implementations and the overarching IS strategy

The successful candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualification in IT or a related discipline
• Red Hat Certifications (RHCE) or the equivalent industry experience 
• AWS Sys Ops, ITIL and ISO 27001 certifications would be highly regarded
• Proven experience designing, managing and supporting Enterprise Server Linux OS
• Experience with internal and external DNS, NTP, NFS, SFTP and syslog support & design
• Experience/exposure with configuration management and automation tools including Spacewalk/Redhat Satellite, Ansible, Bash/Python scripting or other variants
• Experience with user administration and File System Management
• Experience with server hardening and security management (ie. Firewall, Reverse Proxy, SELinux, SSL, Patch Management and Vulnerability Scanning)
• Experience with Active Directory Integration with Linux Servers and an understanding of LDAP & Kerberos
• Experience monitoring tools (ie. Nagios, PRTG, OpsManager)
• Experience with Docker, AWS, Oracle Virtual Machine Support and Citrix Netscaler would be highly regarded
