Challenging contract opportunity working on a critical Migration Project that will only see the truly talented Sr Java Developer secure the position. 

This is a pivotal role for the success of the project. You will join a peer who has been heavily involved from the start - trust must be earned through your wealth of knowledge and talent.

Key Tasks:

• Migrate native SQL embedded into Java source code from Oracle to SQL Server 2012 dialect including functions, views and stored procedures
• App server uplift / change from JBoss 5 
• EJB 2.0 -> EJB 3.2 to take advantage of JEE 7 simplified configuration 
• Update Maven configuration
• Migrate Struts 1.1 – based Web apps from Session EJB’s 2.0 to EJB 3.2 annotations
• Migrate Grails web app on the target app server as above
• CI / CD: automate deployment to managed environments using Bamboo, Maven and shell scripts as required

 
Devops and Linux (RedHat)  hands-on experience would be highly advantageous as well as exposure to JBoss, TomEE and Grails
 
 
You will be a GURU - self-sufficient and have at least 8-10 years experience and your email will probably have "ilovejava" in it!  You're an all-rounder whose always hands-on and you literally jump out of bed every day to do all things Java and at the end of the day you got to sleep early so you can wake up the next day and do it again.
