The role:

  • Abbotsford Location
  • 3 days per week
  • Ability to work 25+ hour per week

As our IT Support Officer (Level 2+), you'll report into the National IT Manager to provide first rate tech support to fellow Verve employees across multiple sites. At times you‘ll work independently, anticipating and responding to the needs of our employees on a plethora of technical issues. Your suite of tech-savvy skills will enable you to diagnose and resolve any emergent hardware and software ailments, and maintain all IT equipment. Your communication skills and friendly personality ensure solid employee relationships and comfort to any  employee seeking high-tech help.

You are:

Experienced: You bring at least 3 years supporting both Microsoft Windows and MacOS users with a recent focus on Win10 and OS X 10.10 and higher. Your technical experience is broad, including familiarity in Networking, Systems, VoIP services and more.

A fixer: You love to tinker and figure out how things work; you readily take ownership of anything that plugs in, from the photocopier to workstations, to make sure it is running smoothly for your colleagues and our clients.

Ambitechstrous: You're pro at fixing the technical problems of any employee, Mac or PC, and are knowledgeable in both Windows and Mac versions of Adobe products and the Microsoft Office suite; bonus points for Powershell.

A communicatior: You communicate easily in the most appropriate medium, be it email, phone, out in studio, hallway conversation or text. You’re comfortable mingling and collaborating with all departments and any level of employee, addressing needs using your friendly people skills.

Agile: Others can juggle a plate or two, but you can juggle the whole buffet. You can quickly change course when priorities shift, or when new initiatives or concepts are introduced into your daily work

You will: 

  • Anticipate, Identify, diagnose, and resolve reported issues in computer hardware and software such as laptops and PCs as reported by Verve employees.
  • Install and upgrade hardware and software, and providing complete assistance while configuring hardware, software, and peripherals of the end user systems.
  • Provide general desktop support, project coordination, imaging/ re-imaging of PCs, and laptops.
  • Autonomously and proactively resolve network related issues like local area connection problems, network access, emails, internet, etc…
  • Provide assistance in installation of other peripherals like printers, scanners, etc., cabling systems like local area network cables, network interface cards, wired switches, etc…
  • Scope, plan, implement and evaluate projects specific to maintaining and enhancing our business IT infrastructure.
  • Have proficiency in supporting: Microsoft Server  | Office 365 | Active Directory | Powershell | SQL Database | VMWare | Hyper V | Mac OS / OSX
