Roles & Responsibilities

As a System Analyst you will primarily be responsible for helping the team unlock the significant amount of mission critical business logic currently held within our various enterprise systems. You will do this by translating business requirements/user stories into functional and data mapping specifications and working with our Software Architects and Software Developers to help them expose this data and business logic in the form of well documented, re-usable APIs. Last but not least, you will play an important role in collaboration with our Test Engineers to help design test cases and carry out testing to ensure that the data integrity of our various systems is never compromised.

• You will be the go to person in our team when it comes to our enterprise systems and their underlying datasets, as such, you will have a solid understanding of our business, our various enterprise systems and how data flows through and between these systems.
• You will effectively communicate and document complex business logic, workflows and data mapping specifications to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Act as an SME and contribute to development of user manuals.
• You will maintain a positive working relationship with other team members, show empathy and always try to seek a collective solution to any problem we face as a team. You will also demonstrate utmost professionalism in all your dealings with people in our business and with customer representatives.
• You will work with Test Engineers to develop test cases, BDD test scripts, identify and prepare test data required during testing. Carry out testing and validations where required, document results in line with test procedures.
• You will gather any required information from relevant stakeholders and help the team meet these requirements through delivery of re-usable APIs or other solutions in line with strategic initiatives.
• You will proactively identify gaps between what our business needs and what our systems can currently do and recommend appropriate solutions.

Candidate Criteria

As a suitable candidate, you will have:

• Experience of iSeries/AS400 and RPG
• Great analytical and problem-solving skills with strong IT fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of database design principles
• Practical knowledge of SQL
• Hands-on experience developing UML diagrams to communicate technical designs and concepts effectively
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
